Helo everybody,
Just a reminder that we are meeting today at 11am in 3124, as usual.
Thanks Igor for pointing out the new CCS paper. Given the limited time to the meeting, I think we could still focus the discussion on the USENIX paper, but if anybody wants to read the CCS paper (in addition or in alternative) we would be interested in talking about it and in understanding the new contribution. The paper is the following:
Faster Secure Two-Party Computation Using Garbled Circuits
Yan Huang, David Evans, Jonathan Katz, and Lior Malka
Usenix 2011
Abstract and pdf: http://www.cs.virginia.edu/~evans/pubs/usenix2011/
We are also looking for people to do pro or cons, so anybody who has knowledge of any of the two papers is encouraged to participate!
Thanks,

Hi,
I would also recommend reading “VMCrypt - Modular Software Architecture for Scalable Secure Computation” by Lior Malka (same author) that appeared in CCS’11. In fact, I understood from his presentation that the work presented in the USENIX paper has been made mostly obsolete by this VMCrypt library introduced in the CCS paper.
Thanks,

Hello,
We have been having some technical problems and it seems that the previous messages didn't go through for the entire mailing list.
The paper selection for Monday is reported below.
Faster Secure Two-Party Computation Using Garbled Circuits
Yan Huang, David Evans, Jonathan Katz, and Lior Malka
Usenix 2011
Abstract and pdf: http://www.cs.virginia.edu/~evans/pubs/usenix2011/
Murph is moderating, and we are still looking for pro and cons for the paper. Let me know if you are interested doing either of them.
Thanks!
