Facilities and Services will turn off cooling to Siebel Center on Monday morning, March 17, 2008, the first weekday of spring break. The outage is scheduled to begin at 8:00 a.m. and will last no longer than four hours. All rooms and spaces in Siebel Center will potentially be warmer than usual.

This is a building-wide cooling outage. All computer room cooling units and the main building cooling units will not be working during this outage. Due to the large number of systems in our computer rooms, TSG will shutdown systems in the following computer rooms on March 17th if the temperature rises too high:

Room Brief Description
2105 Instructional and ACM systems
2301 Department datacenter
3103 Research servers
3234 Research servers
4105 Research servers
4107 Clusters room
4234 Research servers

If you have servers or computer systems in these rooms that *must* remain online Monday, March 17, 2008, please contact TSG as soon as possible by opening a Userhelp ticket at http://userhelp.cs.uiuc.edu/ or sending an email message to userhelp at cs.uiuc.edu
